3 Make sure that the pins on the new ROM chip are aligned

with the grooves on the socket.

4 Gently insert the new ROM chip into the socket.

If you feel any resistance, check that the pins are positioned

directly over the sockets and that they are properly aligned.

▲ Caution:

Do not force the ROM chip into the socket.

5 Install the Option Controller Board

Follow the steps in chapter 3, the “Installing the Option Controller

Board” section of this manual.

Locate the printer according to the instructions given in chapter 2 of

the

Getting Started

guide. Install the printer and the Stackler on a

hard, flat surface, so that they are level with each other.

▲ Caution:

For proper installation of the Stackler, the printer must be

installed on either an optional high-capacity input paper deck or an

optional pedestal stand. Installing the printer and the Stackler at

different levels may prevent paper transport. Allow ample space

around the Stackler so that it can be used correctly.
